The Show Must Go On!

I had it all planned out down to the day. I knew I would miss out on some of the setup time due to my baby girl being born and taking care of her (which I happily gave up). I was right on schedule when WHAM! the cold of death hit and knocked me out for five days! As I type this, I sound like a life long chain smoker hacking a lung. This make it impossible to do anything. Needless to say the show is late starting this year. Tonight is the first night that we have something running, one song.

2012 Tour of Lights

Thanks to a friend for the heads up! The 2012 Tour of Lights nominations are now being taken on the Chico Enterprise Record’s (ER) website. If you like the show that we put on and would like others to see it as well this is an easy way to spread the word. There are a couple homes in the Nob Hill area (West of California Park) that I plan to nominate that have their lights up already.

Winding down

It's December 30th, and we have decided to extend our shows until the 5th of January. This is in large part due to the light contest that we have been entered in that ends the 5th. We have found that the contest is kind of a pain to vote in and not many people take the time to register… wait for the confirmation email… then go back and vote.  Thank you, though,  to the 28 that have voted… As it stands we are lagging by 3. There are two houses tied at 31 votes then us at 28 votes.

Our First Award!

Now having very little voice my wife answered the door and to our surprise there was the Mote Family. Continue reading

Up and Running

Hays Christmas 2010 Display After about 3hrs of soldering the FM transmitter is up and running crystal clear on 107.5FM (Thanks to my Mother-in-law for the "early" Birthday present!). I also spent a couple hours working through an LED strand that decided that half did not want to work. I finally replaced it with a spare and I will work on that one more when I get time (hahahahahhaha)

Problems, fun and sore fingers

Hays Christmas 2010 Display Two FM Transmitters down, 4 split fingers, and over ten thousand lights later we are up and running! (Well kinda). All I can say for the FM transmitters is CHEAP. The next one I get will be higher quality so that when I touch it it doesn't short itself. So needless to say, we are not currently broadcasting on 107.5 FM. We are however playing the music through some speakers that I have mounted outside under the eves so that the music can be heard from the street.
